The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 – Class I certificate is one of the most recognized international quality marks for textile products, confirming their safety for users. It is particularly important for products intended for babies and young children, such as clothing, blankets, diapers, and bedding.
What does the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate mean?
This certification is awarded to textiles that have passed rigorous testing for substances harmful to health. The tests include:
- pesticides,
- heavy metals,
- formaldehyde,
- allergenic and carcinogenic dyes,
- phthalates and other chemicals that may negatively affect health.
Class I – the highest level of safety
Textile products are classified into four categories, with Class I representing the most stringent requirements for products intended for babies and children up to 3 years of age. Fabrics must be completely free of harmful substances, as children have particularly sensitive skin and often put fabrics in their mouths.
